Submit an Attendance Request on the Parent Portal, email attendance@overlake.org, or call the attendance line (425-868-6191, press 1) by 8:30am to report the early dismissal.
Middle School students must be signed out at the Front Office by a parent or guardian — Upper School students may sign themselves out with parental permission.

Parent asks
She had a 101 fever yesterday afternoon and feels fine now. Can she go back tomorrow?
Permission Slip answers
A student with a fever greater than 100.0 °F must remain home and must be fever free for at least 24 hours, unmedicated, before returning — and symptom free.
A contagious illness — strep, COVID, pertussis, chicken pox, pink eye, head lice — must also be reported to the Director of Health & Wellness.

Parent asks
He's going home with a friend Friday and needs a different bus stop. Who do I tell?
Permission Slip answers
A student who needs to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop must obtain a bus pass.
To get one, email the Transportation Coordinator with the student's name, the date the pass is needed, and which route or stop the child will use instead. A copy of that email goes to the bus drivers.

Know if it's excused
Illness, medical appointments, religious observances, Overlake competitions, family emergencies — or something pre-approved by the Middle or Upper School Head, asked at least 48 hours ahead.
Find the actual form
Request for Leave of Absence, health forms, sign-in and sign-out — named, with where it lives and who reviews it.
